Cape Girardeau SEO 101

1. Self-Check
What? I know it sounds crazy but doing a good ole self-check on your website will tell you a lot about what’s going on with your website.
This is not a big scary job. In fact you can find a plethora of free website tools online. Here are a couple just to get you started.
If you find that your website has errors work with your website provider to see if you can get them fixed. Google has made their search algorithm smart enough now to know if your website is healthy. Unfortunately errors can and will reduce your ranking.
2. Keywords – Know your target.
This is a huge! Look at it like this and it will make sense. If someone walked up to you and asked “what does your business do?”, what would be the first word that comes to your mind? Now write that down and try to come up with a couple more. These are going to be your base “keywords” and we will learn from them as we move forward. Now, it’s time for the real work and that would be researching your keywords to see if these are even phrases that your customers are using. Again we have a lot of free tools online that will help us in the process so here are a couple to look at.
If you are having problems finding the correct keywords that will work for you feel free to contact me I would be happy to help. cassy@incasestudio.com
3. Are you local?
If so try using some more free tools like Google Places.(http://www.google.com/business/placesforbusiness/) This is a great tool that will get your website to show up when a customer googles keywords related to your business and again it’s free so why not take 5 minutes and fill in some information.
4. Google Analytics
Now that you know that you are ok, know what your target looks like and have spiced up your local information you can start getting the results you have been waiting for.
Since you can physically see your results changing now let’s keep an eye on your website analytics. This will allow you to see how many people are visiting your website, what keywords they used to find you, how long they are staying on your website, etc. Google analytics is a very powerful FREE tool that we believe every website owner should have installed.
With these quick 4 things you will be more informed about your website and should start moving up in the ranks pretty soon. Over the past 6 years we have found that it takes more than these 4 things to improve your website and your SEO(Search engine optimization) ranking, that is why we developed “simplistiq” our CMS(Content Management System) made for SEO(Search engine optimization). Our CMS will do over 100 professional SEO techniques to each of your dynamic web pages so that you don’t have to worry about the little things. Pinterest API Just Kidding use Powershell

Ok, so today I was thinking about how to post hundreds of videos to Pinterest without the use of the Pinterest API. Since they closed the public Pinterest API we are kind of limited on how we can pin items to our boards. So after a few test I came up with the solution below. Let me know what you think about this little tool. I know that it’s missing the part where you can select which category to put it in but I did get that to work also. Let me know if you need it.

$ie= new-object -com internetexplorer.application;
$ie.visible = $true;
While ($ie.busy -eq $true) {Sleep -Milliseconds 50}
$doc = $ie.document

#login first
$doc.getElementById(“id_email”).value = $username;
$doc.getElementById(“id_password”).value = $password;
$btn = $doc.getElementsByTagName(“button”) | where-object {$_.innerText -eq ‘Login’}
While ($ie.busy -eq $true) {Sleep -Milliseconds 50}

#now pin your video
$p_url = “http%3a%2f%2fpinterest.com%2fpin%2fcreate%2fbutton%2f%3furl%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fwww.youtube.com%2fwatch%3fv%3dONERTDl1S-Y%26media%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fimg.youtube.com%2fvi%2fONERTDl1S-Y%2f0.jpg%26title%3dChimpanzee+Blu-ray+Trailer%26description%3dFor+every+purchase+of+the+movie+through+August+27%2c+2012%2c+Disneynature+will+make+a+donation+through+the+Disney+Worldwide+Conservation+Fund+to+the+Jane+Goodall+Institute+to+conserve+chimpanzee+habitat%2c+educate+the+next+generation+and+care+for+orphaned+chimpanzees”;
While ($ie.busy -eq $true) {Sleep -Milliseconds 50}
$btn_pin = $doc.getElementsByTagName(“button”) | where-object {$_.innerText -eq ‘Pin It’}

#Now Logout
$out_url = “http://pinterest.com/”
$lnkLogout = $doc.getElementsByTagName(“a”) | where-object {$_.innerText -eq ‘Logout’}

#Close Down IE
